ENCORE WINDS NEW MEMBERS POLICY The Encore Wind Symphony is constantly seeking and encouraging new membership. Many of the players are retirees, students, amateurs and music teachers throughout the region. Encore expects a commitment to attend the 5 rehearsals prior to each concert in addition to the dress rehearsal. In order to maintain the standards of Encore, it is expected that a
prospective member be heard by the section leader and, if possible,
the director. The director may ask players to play. If a prospective
player Committed high school students should be recommended by their band director, and encouraged to expand their musical horizons by performing alongside seasoned players.
